Fols. 106v-7v (between Judith and Isaiah) blank. Large blank spaces, for diagrams not executed, on fols. 231v-2, 235v-6v, 241v, 244, 245; f. 234v entirely blank (Ezech.). At the foot of f. 234 the scribe has written ‘Ista prescripcio ab illo signo precedente deberet scribi inter duas figuras subsequentes.’

Ruled with crayon in 2 cols of 65 lines.
The same anglicana hand as MS 163. At the foot of f. 106 is pencilled ‘Fower scor leues etiam xvii et [ ... ]’. Running heads in capitals.
Blue initials flourished in red, sometimes with 1-sided borders in the colours; blue initials flourished in red; red underlining.
Standard Merton s. xvii; sewn on eight bands; formerly chained from the usual position. Fols. i-ii, 336-8 are paper binding leaves, f. 338 from the same printed book as in MS 13. f. iii was a pastedown in an earlier binding. Near the foot of f. 335v are the marks of the large iron chain-staple.
Provenance and Acquisition
Part of a set with MSS 163, 165.
Inside the front board is a sheet of paper with a note on the contents, ‘F. 7, 5’ (canc.), s. xvii, and ‘O. 6. 4. Art:’, canc. and replaced with ‘B. 2. 11 (CLXIV)’ in red; the College bookplate.
