Ruled with crayon in 40 long lines. Running heads between lines ruled right across the page, as far as f. 89v.
Hand(s)
Two English rotunda gothic bookhands (dividing at quires 4/5) influenced by anglicana.
Decoration
Red and blue flourished initials; blue initials flourished in red; red or blue paraphs; red running heads.
Binding
Standard Merton s. xvii, repaired, sewn on five bands. Fols. i and 217 are modern paper blanks. Fols. ii-iii are of thick, stiff parchment.
History
Provenance and Acquisition
On f. iii is ‘Liber domus scolarium de Merton Oxon’’, s. xv.
At the head of f. 1 is a title, s. xvii. Inside the front board is a sheet of paper with titles and ‘F. 2, 9’ (canc.), s. xvii, and ‘P. 2. 16. Art:’, canc. and replaced by ‘N. 2. 6 (CCXXXIII)’ in red; the College bookplate.
