Collation

1–212; pencilled quire-signatures of the usual late medieval form, confirming what the contents suggest, that these are the first two quires of a much larger book.

Layout

Frame-ruled with crayon in 2 cols; written in c. 54 lines.

Hand(s)

A neat cursive by a Low Countries scribe.

Decoration

None: unfilled spaces for coloured initials and rubrics.

Binding

s. xix, sewn on three bands. Fols. i-ii, 25–6 are paper blanks.

History

Origin: S. XV ; script of Low Countries appearance.

Provenance and Acquisition

At the head of f. 1 are ‘Franciscus super secundum Sentenciarum precium iii s. iiii d.’, s. xv; ‘Liber Coll: Mert: ex dono Roberti King A. M. et Coll: huius capellani [Nov. 7. 1676.]’; ‘F 2. 3 Miscell: Arch:’, s. xvii-xviii.

Inside the front board is ‘Q. 1. 20: Art:’, canc. and replaced with ‘K. 1. 10. (CCCXXII)’ in red.
