Collation

Collation of fols. 1–215: (fol. 1) i 8 (disordered), (fol. 9) ii–xiii 8, (fol. 105) xiv 7 leaves, (fol. 112) xv–xxvii 8. Quires numbered on bottom right corner of first recto (the numbers may be later additions).

Layout

Ruling not visible. Column of 14 lines by scribe A, 19 by B.

Hand(s)

Two scholarly hands. A: fols. 1r–8v, B: fols. 9r–211v. Copious glosses by A, a few marginalia by B. It is possible that the sheets written by A are a fragment of a separate book, which B made the beginning of his own text.

Decoration

Rubrication: a penwork heading on fol. 1r in brown and carmine; titles and initials in faded carmine or vermilion.

Additions: fol. 212r: a few lines of unidentified text in a hand similar to B, beg. ἦν ὅτε ἐγένοντο λόγοι, ending illegible.

Binding

Binding of brown-stamped brown leather, 18th cent. (?).

Origin: Middle 14th cent.
