In nine parts with a preface, and preceded by a list of all the chapters and of the 716 recipes which follow the treatise at fol. 112. At end is 'Explicit Neupmen' with flourishes. Pieces of foll. 37, 65 have been roughly torn off, injuring the text.

Provenance and Acquisition

Made for John Fastolf (d. 1459): his arms quarterly or and azure, over all a bend gules, and motto 'Me fault fayre'; 'Lybere morigero Iohanni Fastolffe', late 15th cent., end inner cover.

Probably acquired about 1620–25.
