Totally engulfed by gloss, 89–93 surviving lines to the page. Prickings; bounded and ruled in black ink.

Hand(s)

The text written in English gothic textura semiquadrata, s. xiii2; the gloss, in gothic textura semiquadrata with some anglicana forms, s. xiii/xiv.

Decoration

The canons identified in text ink, introduced by 1-line red lombards

At the heads of canons, 2-line blue lombards on red flourishing (as also to introduce corresponding bits of the gloss).

One longer canon divided by alternate red and blue paraphs.

History

Provenance and Acquisition

Two notes in secretary, s. xv, and some English pen-trials.

MS 235 is a collection of binding fragments removed from College books (medieval portions only). This entry is for fragments 100 and 101 only.
