Provenance and Acquisition

Formerly used as binding waste in Oxford, St John’s College, D.1.7, which comprises books 6, 7, and 8 of Opera Bedae Venerabilis presbyteri, Anglosaxonis […] (Basileae: Per Ioannem Heruagium, 1563).

This binding fragment was apparently discovered when the book was rebacked in 1986. It is now the 114th item in MS 235, a collection of binding fragments removed from College books.
