Peter Lombard, Sententiarum libri IV

On fol. 4 'Expliciunt capitula primi libri Veteris ⟨et⟩ Noui ⟨Testamenti⟩ Sentenciarum a Petro Lonbardo exceptarum': the four books of the Sentences with many marginal notes in various hands, prologue and lists of chapters: see fols. 92v, 172v, 235v, but the list of chapters of the 4th book is added on fols. 329-31.

An elaborate arbor consanguinitatis is on fol. 332.

Fols. i-iv appear to be leaves from another MS. of the Sentences of about the same date and style, once used as fly-leaves.

Provenance and Acquisition

On fol. i 'Caucio magistri Roberti [altered to Johannis?] de Kynevelle exposita in cista de Warham [Oxonie] pro. x. s. in festo sancti Culberti [sic] anno Domini M° c°c°c° xxvij° & tradatur eidem uel Johanni de Kynevelle'.

It was also a caution for vi s. in 1328.

'Liber magistri Thome de Buckyngham'

Exeter, Devon, Cathedral church of St Peter: "Istum librum dedit ecclesie Exoniensi Cathedrali magister Thomas de Buckyngham [d. c. 1350] quondam huius ecclesie Cancellarius". (MLGB3: evidence from an ex-libris inscription or note of gift to an institution).

Given by the dean and chapter of Exeter, 1602.
