Provenance and Acquisition

This appears to be the only MS. which corresponds to 'Regulæ Spirituales [error for pastorales?] Gregorij. 8. [i.e. octavo] MS.', presented by sir Richard Fermor in 1603: this MS. was certainly in the Library not later than 1605.

Associated with his statutes for Coventry and Lichfield diocese, 1224 × 1237; Powicke and Cheney, Synods, II.i.207-226, with this ms. collated as H; BL Royal MS. 8 B. IV (at Bury St Edmunds, 15th century) was probably copied from the present ms., which includes an additional section (not printed by Powicke and Cheney but see p. 220 note h) on 'septem criminalia':
