Provenance and Acquisition

Worcester cathedral priory: evidence of contents.

'Bodleian, Auct. F. 1. 9, Auct. F. 5. 16 and Bodley 633 have been identified as Worcester books by the script of the parchment label of contents.' (MLGB)

Probably acquired by the Library between 1605 and 1611.

Probably, from the references to St. Mary (fol. 103) and st. Oswald as patronus noster (fol. 126), monks of Worcester. The hymns are 'Jam lucis orto sidere', 'Nunc Sancte nobis Spiritus', 'Summi largitor premii' and 'Te lucis ante terminum', but each is much lengthened.
