A copy of a petition from Thomas Wentworth and another to Henry VIII for release from a bond, in which Sir James Harington late dean of York was concerned, soon after 1512, with other papers relating to the affair

A copy of a petition from Richard Beaumont to Henry VIII for a reversal of the attainder of Sir Richard Harington, with several more papers on the subject, including (fol. 10) an inquisitio post mortem taken at Preston in Lancashire on the death of Sir James Harington, 24 September 1487

Provenance and Acquisition

These papers bear notes by John Price, Bodley's Librarian (1768–1813) and probably passed, like MS. Add. C. 259, into the hands of his successor, Bulkeley Bandinel (Bodley's Librarian 1813–1860). At Bandinel's death in 1861, these papers must have passed into the possession of the Bodleian
