Provenance and Acquisition

Garendon, Leicestershire, Cistercian abbey of Saint Mary the Virgin: "Liber sancte marie [...]r[.]ld[...] si quis alienauerit anathema sit" (s. xiv) on verso of flyleaf, facing the 1st page of text, near top. The 4th letter is e or o, the first might be G. "Geroldonie" seems certain. (MLGB3: evidence from an ex-libris inscription or note of gift to an institution).

Given later (s. xv) by the Carmelite provincial John Mylverton to -- (inscr. on a piece of parchment pasted to fol. ii recto). (MLGB3)
