Provenance and Acquisition

Each month is headed with a reference to the year 1451 in the past tense, e.g. fol. 3v, 'anno domini 1451 incipiebat inductio primi cicli...', but a date substantially later than 1451 seems highly unlikely.

Elias Ashmole, 1617–1692.

Bequeathed by him to the Ashmolean Museum.

Transferred to the Bodleian Library in 1860.
