Binding

15th century, end, Italian (as MS.): wood boards with gentle outside bevel, left bare; quarter-binding originally of dark brown leather (lost), no nail holes; remnants of a single central clasp with a plain tawed -leather strap (lost); endbands of dark tanned leather, oversewn with pale thread, perhaps original; flyleaves of medieval documents. Rebacked in lighter leather for Bodleian, 20th century. 208 × 134–136 × c. 35 mm. (book closed).
