16th century, early, French, Paris, binder’s stamp of Julien des Jardins: pasteboards; polished brown leather blind-tooled with lines, stamps, and a large central panel different on each cover: (front) St. Sebastian and St. Barbara, with ‘TOUT SE PASSE | FORS | AYMER DIEV | Julien des ⟨j⟩ardins’; (back) ‘Sainct yues’; spine lost; gilt gauffered edges. Rebacked, 18th century, ?Italian, with gilt red-leather label. 244–246 × 156–158 × c. 24–26 mm. (book closed).

One of a four-volume set of Greek Gospels written by George Hermonymus, ? at Paris, 1470s; the other three volumes now in Paris and Cambridge (Corpus Christi College MS. 224, similarly bound).
