Binding

15th century, Italian: heavy wood boards, with broad bevel; reddish-brown leather, blind-tooled with quintuple lines, stamps and strapwork; traces of two lost fore-edge clasps with broad straps; paper label with 15th-century ink title at back cover, upper centre; spine lost. Crudely rebacked with parchment, ?18th century, Italian; further repairs, late 19th or 20th century, Bodleian. 287–290 × 203–204 × c. 30 mm. (book closed).
