14th century (c. 1363?) or 15th century, Italian: limp parchment wrapper, mostly single thickness, but with the lower fore-edge turned in to provide partial double thickness there; a thick single quire, sewn through the spine over two external pieces of cord; undecorated except at centre of front cover where a flourished initial ‘L’ all in brown ink appears reversed, perhaps just a pen-trial. c. 310 × c. 215–225 × c. 15 mm. (book closed).
A note at inside front cover, top left, reads April 1363; an account at inside back cover mentions the years 1416 and 1417.
