Provenance and Acquisition

Mr. Adam de Sancta Brigida (d. 1232)

Given by him to Exeter Cathedral: 'Hunc librum duorum Ewangeliorum scilicet Luce & Johannis dedit ecclesie Sancti Petri Exonie magister Adam de Sancta Brigida cantor Exoniensis. Si quis illum abstulerit anathemati subiaceat. Amen' (13th century: MLGB3). Identifiable in catalogues of 1327 and 1506 (MLGB3).

Presented by the dean and chapter of Exeter in 1602.
