Winchester, Hampshire, Benedictine cathedral priory of St Peter, St Paul, and St Swithun: 'Liber proverbiorum domini G. prioris incipit'; cf. the other two MSS. of the E. group of MSS. which begins 'Incipit prefatio Godefridi prioris ecclesie sancti Swithuni in sequens opus'.
