Provenance and Acquisition

Tonbridge, Kent, Augustinian priory of St Mary Magdalen (?) : '... prioratus de Tonebr[idge] [?] pro libro medicine' (fol. 3r), part erased (reagent used on it), s. xiii–xiv. The first word is no doubt 'memoriale' -- traces of M and l can be made out; -br' is clear in the place name. (MLGB3: evidence from an ex-libris inscription or note of gift to an institution).

Kenelm Digby, 1603–1665

Donated to the Bodleian, 1634.
