History

Origin: 11th century, end ; English, Durham

Provenance and Acquisition

Durham, Benedictine cathedral priory of St Cuthbert: Dr Tessa Webber finds that there are additions in the manuscript in the hand of the scribe of the Carilef Bible (Durham Cathedral A.II.4), confirming Craster's suggestion of Durham provenance, based on the similarity to the hand of Bodl. MSS Bodley 596, fol. 175–214. (MLGB3: evidence from the style of script or illumination).

Kenelm Digby, 1603–1665

Donated to the Bodleian, 1634.
