History

Provenance and Acquisition

Fols. 98-141: Oxford, Oxfordshire, Oriel College (Domus beate Marie seu Collegium regale Oxon'): 'per m. Eliam de Trikyngham' (fol. 134v). 'per m. Elyam [or Helyam] de Trikyngham' (fol. 98r, erased). Inscr. on fol. 134r begins 'Iste liber est fratris ...' so much legible by u. v. light. (MLGB3: inferred evidence).

(fols. 121r–133r) do not quite certainly belong with the rest. For E. de T. cf. Oriel Coll. 4, Auct, F.v.28 (from Oriel), Lambeth Palace 1106 nad Oriel Coll. Records. He was fellow of Oriel c. 1350–1360, see Richards and Shadwell, The provosts and fellows of Oriel College, Oxford (Oxford 1922), p. 8. The inscr. on fol. 134v is in the same hand as that in Lambeth 1106, and as the inscr. 'per m. Eliam de Trikyngham' in Oriel Coll. 4 (which has also in another hand 'liber domus beate Marie de Oryell per m. Helyam de Trykyngham'). (MLGB3)

Kenelm Digby, 1603–1665

Donated to the Bodleian, 1634.
