Provenance and Acquisition

Winchcombe, Gloucestershire, Benedictine abbey of St Kenelm: "In hoc volumine continetur liber uenerabilis bede presbiteri in libro ecclesiastice historie gentis anglorum quod quidem volumen pertinet ad monasterium Winchelcombense" (s. xv); inscription on a label now pasted to fol. ii verso but formerly fastened by 12 nails to one of the covers of the old binding (present binding of s. xviii).
