Additions: fol. ii(v) in pencil, possibly in hand of Frederic Madden: 306 leaves; fol. 124v, monokondylon in red ink: τέλος; fol. 273v (either pen-trial or from a text which was never completed here): τί ταῦτ(α)· fol. 305r: Colophon: + ἐτελειώθει^η^ ὁ παρὼν σουίδ(ας) (συίδας, Förster, Schenkl), διὰ χειρὸς ἐμοῦ δημη|τρίου τοῦ ξανθοπούλου ἐν ἔτει ιςωϡωξωβω: +κ(α)τὰ μῆνα| φ(ε)υρ(ουάριον) (φευρουαρίου Förster, Schenkl; φευρουάριου Adler, Speranzi) ιδ´ τ(ῆς) νῦν τρεχούσης (ἰ)ν(δικτιῶνος); A later hand (19th c.?) transcribed the text, but omitted number 14 from the date: ἐτελειώθη ὁ παρὼν Σουΐδας διὰ χειρὸς ἐμοῦ δημητρίου τοῦ ξανθοπούλου/ ἐν ἔτει ιςωϡωξωβω: (subscr. 6962) κατὰ μῆνα φευρουάριον τῆς νῦν τρεχούσης ἰνδικτιῶνος. Additions in pencil: Α. Μ. (before 6962) and below 5508/ A. D. 1454 signature of F(rederic) M(adden).

Binding

Typical Holkham binding of light brown leather, with Coke family ostrich crest in gilt in the centre of the upper cover; Date: early nineteenth century. Rebound by John Jones of Liverpool (worked for Holkham 1816–1823). The spine lettered in gilt: /SUIDÆ/ LEXICON/ GR.// M.S./ SÆC. XII./; in pasted black leather: MS. /HOLKHAM/ Gr. 111/; below, in gilt, shelfmark from the Holkham Binding: 288.
