Additional pasted leaf with various notes and patristic extracts (John Chrysostom, Basil of Caeserea) in the hand of J. Morezenos on spiritual issues, such as confession and absolution of sins. Tit. Καὶ ὅσα ἂν δήσητ(ε) ἐπὶ τῆς γ(ῆς), ἔσται δεδεμένον ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς, καὶ ὅσα ἐὰν λύσητ(ε) ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς, ἔσται λελυμένον ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς. (Cf. Matthew 18: 18), inc. Ἔνστασις. ὅτι λέγουσι τὸν Θ(εὸ)ν τὴν ἐξουσίαν … des. ταύτην συνεχῆ μελέτη(ν). The leaf contains also some mathematical calculations and a few notes possibly in Italian.

Typical Holkham binding of light brown leather, with Coke family ostrich crest in gilt in the centre of the upper cover; Date: early nineteenth century.
