Origin: Flemish ; c. 1490

Provenance and Acquisition

Written for a member of the Berlaimont family (on whom see Goethals, 1849, (unpaginated)) who married into the Ligne family (with the quartered arms of both families), perhaps Gilles, Seigneur de Berlaimont, Hierges, Péruwelz, and Beauraing, who married Mary de Ligne, Lady of Lens, and Lady of Belœil (Hassall, 1970, 15); remained in the family until the 16th century.

Gaspar de Guzman, Count-Duke of Olivares; to his nephew, Gaspar de Haro, Spain (see Gallardo, 1889, cols. 1479 and 1517).
