Provenance and Acquisition

There are marginal notes in various Italian hands of the 13th-15th centuries.

A note on the philosophical works of Cicero on fol. 1r has been erased and re-written on fol. iii verso in a 15th-century humanist hand, headed by 'ies'.

Giuseppe Valletta (1636–1714), Naples (on whom see Hassall, 1970, 22, 22 n. 9), signed 'I. V.' (fol. iii verso).

Bookplate of 'THOMAS WILLIAM COKE', formerly Norfolk, Holkham Hall, MS. 380.
