Ending imperfect with probably two leaves missing after fol. 3, the first containing the end of the table of contents, the second with a frontispiece on the verso (with an offset visible on fol. 4r).

Subsequent additions and ratifications, 1436-1521; the opening date given in error as 'MLDVI' (fol. 20v); these and the original statues are numbered in one continuous sequence from 1 to 110, corresponding to the numbers in the list of contents; three leaves (fols. 27-29 in the early foliation) missing after fol. 29; one leaf (fol. 36 in the early foliation, subsequently in the collection of Mark Lansburgh, Taos, New Mexico) missing after 35; and one (fol. 54 in the early foliation) after fol. 52.

Roman, 'cancellaresca corsiva', in the style of and perhaps by Giovanbattista Palatino (see BLR).

Decoration

Two-line illuminated initial for each statute, a glod letter on a panel of blue or red, with silver tracery.

Binding

Modern orange-brown morocco by Douglas Cockerell and Son.; the spine with five raised bands and two title-pieces of black leather, lettered in gilt 'STATUTES | OF THE | BAKER | & OVEN- | KEEPERS | OF ROME' and 'ITALIAN | MS. | c. 1540'.
