Humanistic capitals and italic script, in brown and pink inks. Written by Bartolomeo Fonzio.


Fine miniatures (mostly wash drawings). In the style of the school of Botticelli. (Pächt and Alexander ii. 329, pl. XXX)

Miniatures depicting a Castel sant'Angelo, Rome (fol. 63r), an elephant (fol. 72v), a giraffe (fol. 73r), classical capitals, arcades and other classical remains and sculptures and inscriptions seen in Rome (fols. 132v-153r, 161v)


Bound in plain parchment over thin pasteboards; the spine inscribed 'Noti|zie | Belle | e | nece[...] | [...] | Anti[qu?..] | di | Roma'; the brown leather case lettered in gilt on the spine 'COLLECTANEA | EPIGRAPHICA | SAECULI XV.'
