History
Provenance and Acquisition
Lorsch, Benedictine abbey (?): not identifiable in the 9th-century catalogues; Lorsch provenance inferred by Bischoff and Hunt from later Eberbach provenance (see below).
Eberbach, Cistercian abbey: characteristic annotations (Quarto Catalogue, p. xxv). Probably identifiable as e 26 in the Eberbach library catalogue of 1502 (Nigel F. Palmer, Zisterzienser und ihre Bücher: die mittelalterliche Bibliotheksgeschichte von Kloster Eberbach im Rheingau (Regensburg, 1998), 271, 287). Probably removed from Lorsch to Eberbach between 1233 and 1245 while Lorsch was administered by monks from Eberbach (Palmer, p. 18)
William Laud, 1573–1645, 1638.
Part of his third donation to the Bodleian, 1639.
