Provenance and Acquisition

Roche, Yorkshire, Cistercian abbey of St Mary the Virgin: Old flyleaves gone. 'I' 'II' 'III' in the margins at intervals, as in Laud Misc. 308, 309. Thus, 'I' is opposite the first line of col. 1 on fol. 1, 'II' is opposite the second line in col. 2 and 'III' is five lines from bottom of col. 2. The figures occur in exactly the same positions in Laud Misc. 308. This is presumably a companion volume to Cambridge UL Gg. 3. 33, which contains the second part of Lethbertus, has similar writing and also the Roche ex libris on fol. 1r. (MLGB3: inferred evidence).

'Hugh Cressy' (s. xvii in.). Given by Archbishop Laud 1639. (MLGB3)
