Newstead, Nottinghamshire, Augustinian priory of St Mary the Virgin (?); MSS. Laud Misc. 428 and Laud Misc. 285 may have belonged to Newstead, Lincs., or more probably, Newstead, Notts., since it came to Laud from William le Neve, like MS. Laud Lat. 34 (q.v.). (MLGB3: evidence from an ex-libris inscription or note of gift to an institution).
