Binding

Plain white leather on bevelled boards, 14th cent. (?) English work, injured and repaired (S.C.). Medieval binding, with parchment title at the top of the outside of the lower board, with a table of contents (s. xiv). There is a nail mark for strap fastening on the lower cover (MLGB3).

Provenance and Acquisition

Worcester, Worcestershire, Benedictine cathedral priory of St Mary the Virgin: 'Iste liber constat monasterio Wygornensi' (fol. 1; s. xv). 'Palladius de agricultura C.C.xxxv' (fol. 97, foot; s. xiii/xiv). (MLGB3: evidence from an ex-libris inscription or note of gift to an institution).

The pieces on fol. 44v–93 are divided into 179 sections numbered in the margin: this numbering is referred to in the table on fol. 93-96v. The flyleaves are now Bodleian, Lat. liturg. d.20, fol. 11-16 (q.v.). (MLGB3)
