Provenance and Acquisition

On fol. 3a is entered a Latin inventory of silver gilt cups, dishes, pots, etc., with their weight and value in sterling, perhaps belonging to 'Jo. de Magno Ponte', imperfect, written c. 1300 in England: 'Jo. de Magno Ponte habet cupam cum operculo deaurato et cifum aureum et XXV coclearia argentea', etc.

Purchased by the Bodleian at Sotheby's on 31 March 1859 from the collection of Guillaume Libri. No. 792 in the sale catalogue
