On fol. vii v are 8 verses of mnemonics beg: 'Mensibus Hebreus hec (?) ponit nomina Susan' and 'Quinque libros moysi losue' Walther, Init. 16027; see also MS. Laud Lat. 39, fol.131.

On fol. ix -x are notes on words in the Bible (saec. xiii/xiv?), some with references to authorities, including (fol. ix v) : 'Jo Hedinensis in gramatica greca vel potius fr. Ro. Bacon' and (fol.x) 'Horribiliter errant qui apponunt 'fontem' pro 'fortem' decepti ex hoc vocabulo 'sitivit' [Ps.41.2]. Nam in hebreo est el quod est fortis et in Greco est ischiros quod est fortis. Hec Ro. Bacoun (name written over erasure) in gramatica sua greca et scribit iskiros non per k sed ut supra'.

There are many notes in the margin from a Correctorium, and some by the annotator of fols. ix-x including (fol.338v) 'Grecus habet Iuniam media producta supra b [Rom.16,7] ubi ponitur Iuliam secundum Eston'.

Provenance and Acquisition

On fol. viii, 'This is the boke of John Fl⟨ude⟩ [Pächt and Alexander read "Flint"] one of the ⟨attorneyes⟩ of Colchester' (saec. xvi) is legible under ultra-violet light.

William Laud, 1573-1645, by 1633.

Part of his first donation to the Bodleian Library, sent 22 May 1635.
