Provenance and Acquisition

Hereford, Herefordshire, Franciscan convent: "Beda De Natura rerum et temporum ratione. De communitate fratrum minorum Herefordie ex collatione fratris W. Herebert auctoritate Generalis ministri" (fol. 1r, top of page), s. xiii–xiv. (MLGB3: evidence from an ex-libris inscription or note of gift to an institution).

"Richard Wallvyn his Booke" (front flyleaf, s. xvii?). (MLGB3)

Rebound. On a front parchment flyleaf, turned sideways: ".C. 15. in fine constituciones domini Gregorii pape .x. [above: i]"(s. xv). The hand is not unlike that of the pressmark of Hereford Franciscans N.P.S. 1. 17, no. 6, though the 5 is rather different. (MLGB3)

Richard Rawlinson, 1690–1755

Bequeathed to the Bodleian in 1755
