Accompanying Material

At the beginning (pp. v-vi) original letters patent of confraternity of the Master of the hospital of Burton St Lazars in favour of the parishioners of Tredington (Worcestershire) dated 1504.

Origin: 15th century, middle ; English

Provenance and Acquisition

Gawsworth, Cheshire, parish church of St James (?): late 15th and 16th cent. obits of members of the Fyton family of Gawsworth and of the rector George Baguley (1470–97).

William Durham (1610/11–1684), rector of Tredington, Worcestershire.

Given by him to Thomas Barlow (1607–1691) in 1659: 'Tho: Barlow 1659, ex dono reuerendi viri domini Guil: Durham rectoris ecclesiae de Tredenton in com. Wigorniae'.

Bequeathed by Barlow to the Bodleian.
