Origin: c. 1460 ; Italy, Padua

Provenance and Acquisition

At the foot of the first page of the text (fol. 3r) are the arms of John Tiptoft, earl of Worcester (d. 1470), with his crest, between two satyrs. The book was no doubt copied in Italy for that nobleman, and given by him to the old library of the University of Oxford.

Oxford, Oxfordshire, University: 'Liber hic pertinet ad vniversitatem Oxoniensem, vt cathinetur in j [?] bibliotheca' (fol. 1v, s. xv) (MLGB3)

John Selden, 1584–1654
