Provenance and Acquisition

Canterbury, Kent, Benedictine abbey of St Augustine (originally of St Peter and St Paul): Originally one volume with Eton College, MSS 160 + 161 "De Librario Sancti Augustini Cantuariensis". "cum M." (fols. ii verso and iii verso), s. xv in. "Iohannis de London:" (fols. ii verso and iii verso). John de London's inscription on fol. ii verso is in the same hand (c. 1300) as in Rawl. C.117. His floruit as a monk of St Augustine's is c. 1290–c. 1330. Medieval foliation on versos to 137, then on rectos. (MLGB3: evidence from an ex-libris inscription or note of gift to an institution).
