Provenance and Acquisition

Salisbury, Wiltshire, Cathedral church of St Mary the Virgin; see removed from Sherborne in 1078 (?) : Numerous notes by Godfrey Goodman (cf. S.C.). Obits of prebendaries of Bedwyn. According to Goodman, the book came from the cathedral, where it may have belonged to Bedwyn prebendal Stall. Otherwise, it may have belonged to the church of G t Bedwyn. (MLGB3: evidence from locally specific contents, including obits, scribbles, etc.).
