MS. Bodl. 854
Summary Catalogue no.: 2613
Contents
Prologue on p. 4
Several leaves are wanting at the end, the text ending with 'missum est decretum eleccionis diocesano episcopo vt' (p. 238 of James P. Carley's edition [Boydell, 1985])
Some words and sentences, especially on pp. 375-431, are ineffectively deleted by someone who objected to the name and deeds of popes
The text is a direct copy of MS. Ashmole 790; so much so that the name of the scribe of MS. Ashmole 790, Thomas Wason, is copied on p. 110
The treatise was edited by Thomas Hearne from other manuscripts in 1726, but Hearne printed notes on this manuscript by Gerard Langbaine (1609-1658) at vol. i, p. lix of his edition
